Common Faults and Daily Maintenance of Mini Excavators

Release Date:05.14.2026 Views: 1

With the characteristics of flexibility and convenience, mini excavators are widely used in small-scale operation scenarios such as municipal administration, landscaping and agriculture. Their daily maintenance is directly related to the service life and operation efficiency of the equipment.

Common faults can be categorized into four main types:

1. Hydraulic system faults, manifesting as sluggish operation and oil leaks, often caused by contaminated hydraulic oil, aging seals, or insufficient oil level;

2. Engine faults, including difficulty starting and insufficient power, usually caused by a clogged air filter, poor-quality fuel, or failure to change the engine oil on time;

3. Walking system faults, such as weak movement and deviation, often stemming from loose tracks or worn walking motors;

4. Electrical faults, caused by loose wiring harnesses or water ingress into connectors, manifesting as instrument malfunctions and abnormal starting.

Daily maintenance is the key to preventing faults, which is simple to operate and effective. Before daily operation, check the levels of engine oil, fuel, hydraulic oil and coolant, clean the dust on the filter element, and tighten loose parts; replace the engine oil and oil filter every 250 hours, replace the hydraulic oil filter and check the track tension every 500 hours; fully replace the hydraulic oil and diesel filter every 1000 hours, and inspect the circuit and connectors. At the same time, keep the equipment clean, avoid dust and moisture entering the hydraulic and electrical systems, and operate in a standardized manner without overloading, which can not only reduce the occurrence of faults, but also reduce maintenance costs and extend the service life of the equipment.
