What is the use scope of small excavators

Release Date:10.28.2025 Views: 7

Mini excavators are used in municipal engineering, interior decoration, rural housing and road construction, tunnel construction, landscaping, greenhouse tillage, steel furnace slag removal, and hazardous height operations.

1. Municipal Engineering: Trench excavation and pipeline filling are essential in municipal construction, and mini excavators, with their compact size and maneuverability, are the perfect choice. Furthermore, mini excavators have a 90-degree boom, making them particularly useful for digging trenches against walls. Mini excavators are also easy to transport, and can be transported using a light truck or even a pickup truck.

2. Interior decoration: When interior decoration requires demolishing walls and making holes, a mini excavator is more efficient than a manual hammer. Mini excavators are relatively small and can be moved up and down stairs or even elevators.

3. Building houses and roads in rural areas: Building houses in rural areas originally required manual excavation of foundations and trenches for water pipes. Now these tasks can be handed over to small excavators, which not only reduces the labor intensity of workers, but also greatly improves the speed of construction.

4. Tunnel construction: Micro excavators are relatively low in height and can be driven into some small tunnels for construction. Some manufacturers have even developed electric-driven micro excavators that are more suitable for tunnel working environments.

5. Gardening: Agricultural gardening operations are often performed in confined environments, often obscured by trees, seedlings, and crops. Large machinery is not practical for digging holes and trenching during gardening, so small excavators are perfectly suited.

6. Greenhouse tillage: Vegetable greenhouses are generally low, making large agricultural machinery impractical. Therefore, mini excavators are used for tillage and trenching. It is reported that small excavators are very common in greenhouse clusters such as Shandong and Xi'an.

7. Slag removal from steel furnaces: Steel mills mainly use converters or electric furnaces for steelmaking. A lot of slag is produced during the smelting process. In the process of handling the slag, micro excavators are often used to turn over and remove the slag. The working environment is relatively harsh, which is a great test for the driver and the excavator.

8. Dangerous work at height: We often see small excavators working on cliffs in news reports, such as during construction or post-disaster reconstruction. These excavators have a tiltable chassis, allowing the cab to remain horizontal, while a steel cable suspends the excavator. Operating such an excavator requires considerable courage.
